HISTORY
Built in 1845, Revived in 2017
Looking back to the 1840s, Maison de Violette’s renovations restore its former glory. It is placed in the Lower Garden District—the perfect spot to start exploring New Orleans or to begin your special event. You will feel at home in a tranquil oasis that belies the busy Magazine Street.
The apartment has modern amenities throughout, which blend seamlessly with the grand scale and historic features of a bygone era. Experience the liveliness of Magazine Street from above on the balcony. Wonderful living areas flow easily through the layout: a sumptuous Master Suite, including a laundry room off the hallway, awaits on the second floor; another two bedrooms; plus a surprise room on the third floor.
Let your eye wander and catch the exquisite church behind Maison de Violette through the rear-facing windows—it is a feeling of being on a European adventure.
Located to the west of the Mississippi River and south of the French Quarter, the Lower Garden District lives dating back to the early 19th century. The District’s architecture reflects the rich New Orleans’ culture and the plans that surveyor Barthelemy Lafon had in 1809—the primary streets that run perpendicular to the Mississippi River are named for the nine ancient Greek muses: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Thalia, Melpomene, Terpsichore, Euterpe, Polymnia, and Urania. There is a mix of buildings within the District expressing different styles: Greek Revival temple fronts and early Creole-style. A collection of shops and restaurants are amongst this architecture.
Become a part of the New Orleans’ culture and feel at home at Maison de Violette.
